Cost Specialist
Purpose: The role of the Cost Specialist is to assist in maintaining program requirements as it relates to the allocation of expenditures across programs and monitoring related balances. Assists in the implementation of current procedures as it related to maintaining requirements for a federally funded Head Start Program
Job Responsibilities:
Test integrity of allocations across Restricted Cost Centers
Maintain monthly settlement of Unrestricted Cost Centers
Maintain weekly statistics of IdentoGo Services
Assist the Non-Federal Share Administrator with ad hoc reports, as assigned
Collect substantiating data for Cost Allocation Planning
Attend all required trainings, meetings and complete necessary certifications, as required
Assist with training of program staff as it related to procurement
Job Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Requirements:
Work effectively with people of diverse social, economic, cultural, and educational backgrounds.
Experience with low income and culturally diverse families preferred.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of Head Start Program Performance Standards
Type 50-65 WPM.
Efficient with entire Microsoft Suite, with ability to negotiate Microsoft Office with a solid knowledge in Microsoft Excel formulations.
Efficient with internal electronic data systems
3-5 years of data entry and administrative assistance experience required
Work well independently and collaboratively with others
Skilled in written and verbal communication
Ability to analyze information and apply it
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Some college preferred
