Survivor Support Specialist

The purpose of this position is to provide direct services including, crisis intervention, case management, emotional support, legal advocacy, and safety planning to those who identify or are identified as victims/survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, sex trafficking, and other victims of crime. The Specialist will provide follow-up services for SART-DV survivors seen at local hospitals. The position will provide these services in a variety of settings, including in the community to support our community partnerships, as well as across the YWCA Women's Resource Center service areas

Job Responsibilities

*Provides crisis intervention, emotional support, safety planning, legal advocacy, information and referral services to victims/survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, sex trafficking, and other victims of crime

*Primarily provide face-to-face services and work to support our community-based partners

*Provide follow-up and wrap around services identified through SART-DV

*Work as a part of a coordinated community response to support victims of crime

*Provide crisis intervention services to survivors in other service areas of the YWCA WRC, as it pertains to services to support victims of crime

*Complete daily and weekly data logs, time sheets, client demographics, and input of client data into Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) within 24 hours of providing services to the survivor

*Follow the YWCA, COA, MCADSV and funding requirements for data collection on the proper forms

*Submit data on a weekly basis

*Maintain up-to-date case files at all times

Job Requirements

*Working knowledge of state and agency law guidelines to include child abuse and neglect reporting, elderly abuse and neglect and duty to warn

*Participate in all required organizational, program specific and position-related professional development, in-service trainings and direct supervision meetings

*Assist with coverage of the crisis line and SART-DV calls

*Proficiency in Microsoft Office (2016) products; Word, Excel, Outlook and the following database: Efforts to Outcomes (ETO)

Education Requirements/Experience

* B.S. in Social Work, Psychology or related field with appropriate education

*Minimum of 1-year of experience working with survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault including dating violence, stalking, human trafficking or other dangerous or life-threatening conditions that relate to violence against the individual or a family member, including a child

*Experience in community networking, case coordination for multi-disciplinary teams, providing a safe environment for victims/survivors and demonstrated organizational skills required

*Completion of 48 hour domestic and sexual violence training including safety planning, lethality and suicidal assessments

*Must comply with rules and regulations of the YWCA, local hospitals and law enforcement agencies

*Must have reliable, personal transportation

*Additional consideration given to candidates who are bilingual or possess related advanced certifications or licensure
