Maintenance Technician
Purpose: To monitor, inspect and make necessary repairs or installations to assist and develop a safe, efficient and effective maintenance program including HVAC, Plumbing, electrical, and construction while also tracking, relocating and recording the programs equipment, property and supplies as required by the department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Repair/replace or install plumbing, electrical, construction and HVAC system parts as needed.
Access other system problems, repair if possible or report further contractor assistance needed to supervisor
Relocate YWCA property to meet operational needs
Perform inspections, monitoring and open/close of buildings as assigned
Assist in the 24/7 emergency on-call rotation
Assure that YWCA premises are safe, secure and clean
Require Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
Knowledge regarding electrical, mechanical HVAC systems.
Basic knowledge of construction trades.
Ability to analyze and make recommendations to perform the repair/installation to meet operational needs.
Ability to use necessary hand and power tools to maintain YWCA buildings and property including electrical, plumbing, hardware and HVAC in compliance with specifications, fire/safety and building codes.
Relocation and lifting skills to safely perform relocations of furniture and equipment and other materials as required.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
Must be able to climb ladders and roof up to 30 feet
Perform essential duties of position during or after inclement weather to include snow removal, ladder work, relocating furniture and equipment, use of hand and power tools, etc.
Ability to lift up to 70lbs
