Center Manager - North County Head Start

The purpose of the Center Manager's position is to operate an early childhood education facility which promotes school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through the provision of educational, health, social and other services to enrolled children and families.

Job Responsibilities

Work synergistically with the assigned Case Manager and Child Development Specialist to assure that all required services and systems are implemented

Sustain required compliance to assure that the center meets and/or exceeds Head Start Performance Standards, Missouri State licensing, MOA Accreditation

Select, train and mentor staff to promote high quality services and a team approach to service delivery

Assure that systems are maintained that assure compliance with program financial management procedures, equipment maintenance, and supplies are maintained to meet the center's needs

Create and maintain an environment that promotes staff professionalism, parent engagement and positive child development

Establish and promote an environment of respect and appreciation of cultural and ethnic differences among staff, parents and children.

Job Requirements

General knowledge of finance and budgets and how this knowledge contributes to the operation of a quality early child care setting

Knowledge of the value or creating partnerships with parents in promoting the development of the child

Knowledge of the general guiding principles of operating a high quality care facility in accordance with MOA StandardsKnowledge of and ability to create an environment which promotes the development of team work, respect and value for every individual

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Leadership and management skills

Organizational skills

Proficient with computer and data base systems

Strong working knowledge of the principles and practices of early childhood development

Experience working with infants/toddlers preferred

Education Requirements and Experience
Bachelors or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field plus 10 college courses in Early Childhood Education or a Bachelors or advanced degree in a related field and 10 classes in ECE

Previous supervisory or management epxerience in a licensed child care center strongly desired

Knowledge and interaction with Head Start policies and procedures preferred
